The saint becomes utterly unique in making manifest Christ Jesus, for he imitates not man but the divine archetype. He steps out in faith beyond himself by denying himself. He is stripped of all attachments to self and in the process finds himself. He becomes who is he truly meant to be by becoming not himself, but Christ born anew in his heart by the grace offered in the sacraments.
