When we act according to an invincibly erroneous conscience, do we merit grace? What the heck does that mean? That is what I get at in this video. It takes a little to unpack, but I explore St. Alphonsus Ligouri on this question and how it can help you to be a better person.
Dear Father, Great video.
I thought I would add that in the case of the whistle blower, before taking any action one has to be prudent and make sure one is not slandering and tarnishing forever the reputation of the other person.
Following ones’ conscience is the first step, but before taking action, ones must verify (i.e educate ones’ conscience). Just like in math, before entering the result, the student must verify more than once if he did not make a mistake.
I am afraid reputations have been destroyed that way.
May God bless you Father, for all your work.
In Christ.
